Internship week #1: Goals

Wednesday, November 8 was my first internship day and I have to say that I am more that excited to be there. My internship is in CKUT radio so I obviously will be working around people and music. It was my first time being on a radio station so I had an idea of what working on a radio station was like. One of the things I love about CKUT radio is the cause of the radio station and where is comes. As a matter of fact, one of the reasons why CKUT radio is so special is because they play music from all the world that connects all the communities from Montreal and is not necessary mainstream music, which makes the radio station really stand out. So people from all over the communities can come and share this  but first I would like to talk about my internship host. Her name is Tamara, she was very pleased to meet me just as much as I was pleased to meet her. She is a very kind and welcoming person. She made me feel right at home as soon as I stepped in the door. She introduced to everyone and we also did a little tour of the place so I can get used to the radio environment . I will use the language learning strategies to be able to communicate and share different ideas in the internship. There will be a lot of socialising therefore, I am ready to take on the challenge. She told me a little about the radio station and how it works. She also said for my internship I will mostly be doing paperwork as well as working on the radio station. To me it very exciting because, I have never worked in a radio station and I always like to try new things in life and challenge myself so I thought this would be a great opportunity for me, especially since I like socializing with people, getting to know them and discussing new ideas with people from different countries as well as seeing other points of views.

For this internship, I have some goals and those are:

  • To be able to integrate in my internship
  • To be responsible
  • To be able to learn new experiences that could help me in the future
  • Have a good team spirit
  • To improve my English skills
  • To make CKUT radio the best station in Montreal
This is all for my first week at CKUT radio. Stay tuned for next week, as I talk about a different themes and exciting adventures.
